Event Description
Strengthening Africa’s Digital Frontiers, One Byte at a Time.
What does it actually look like to train the next generation of cybersecurity leaders? For the first time in the city of Bafoussam this past week, something never seen before happened. It was six days of intense focus, late-night breakthroughs, and a deep dive into the mechanics of digital defense.
From December Sunday 14 to Friday 19, these emerging experts didn't just study security—they lived it. Through a blend of thought-provoking lectures and hands-on laboratory exercises, on Digital Forensics with Professor Pierre Michaux , penetration testing with Professor Benjamin Van Damme, and reverse engineering with Professor Guillerme DUVILLIÉ .
All limits were pushed in order to understand the "how" and "why" behind modern threats.
This cohort spent the week mastering the essentials of the craft:
✅ Decoding the DNA of software through Reverse Engineering.
✅ Thinking like hungry attacker to stress-test systems via Penetration Testing.
✅ Navigating the "crime scene" by analyzing ROM, RAM, and Network traffic for forensic clues.
Indeed this journey wouldn't have been possible without the mentorship of Professor Guillerme DUVILLIÉ, Professor Benjamin Van Damme, Pr. Emmanuel FOUOTSA, Professor Pierre Michaux, Dr Bertrand Nguefack, Mr Taku OTTO and Mr Ojong. Their insights provided more than just technical skills; they offered a new lens through which one must view digital integrity.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the dino-secure.be team. By traveling to Cameroon to share their expertise, they are helping to build a more resilient and secure digital future for the entire continent, The West Digital Hub, for the out of space hospitality, we can’t help but say thank you.
The work of securing Africa’s digital landscape is a massive undertaking, but after a week like this, it’s clear that the future stakeholders are ready. They are just getting started.
The days we dreamed of!
